English
The same attorney, from the first call to the courtroom, in state and federal court.

The attorney who answers your call is the one who tries your case.
We practice from a downtown office on historic Third Street and NE Ford, a short walk from the Yamhill County courthouse. We listen first, explain your options in plain language, and stay candid about risk before you decide. Most cases settle, and because the other side knows we are prepared to try yours, we negotiate from a position of trial-readiness.

Answers for McMinnville and the Willamette Valley.
From where we practice to what a case costs: the questions we hear most, answered plainly. If yours isn’t here, a call is the fastest way to a straight answer.
Are you based in McMinnville?
Yes. Our office is at 237 NE Ford Street in downtown McMinnville, a short walk from the Yamhill County courthouse, and McMinnville is home. We represent clients across the city and all of Yamhill County, from Newberg and Dundee through the heart of wine country out to Sheridan and Willamina.
Do you take cases outside Yamhill County?
All the time. We're a well-established Willamette Valley firm: from McMinnville we regularly serve the Salem metro area across Marion and Polk counties and the southwest Portland metro, including Hillsboro, Tigard, and Tualatin in Washington County, and Wilsonville in Clackamas County. We also take cases in the mid-valley around Albany and on the central Oregon coast, including Newport and Lincoln City.
Which courts do you appear in?
The circuit courts that serve the valley and the coast: Yamhill County in McMinnville, Marion County in Salem, Polk County in Dallas, Washington County in Hillsboro, and Lincoln County in Newport, along with the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. For a serious case, we'll appear wherever in Oregon it's filed.
What kinds of criminal cases do you defend?
The firm defends clients in all criminal matters, including DUII, Ballot Measure 11 charges, and felony cases, in the Yamhill, Marion, Polk, and Washington County circuit courts and in Oregon's federal court. Criminal defense is one of the four practices we've built the firm on, prepared with the same care as our injury, immigration, and estate work.
Are consultations free?
For criminal defense and personal injury, the consultation is free: we evaluate your case and explain your options at no charge. For immigration and estate planning, the first meeting carries a modest flat fee, and you leave it with concrete advice and a clear next step. Calling or scheduling never costs anything.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Abraham Hanson is fluent in Spanish and represents Spanish-speaking clients directly, with no interpreter in between, from the first call through the courtroom.
What is a Measure 11 charge?
Ballot Measure 11 is an Oregon law that sets mandatory minimum prison sentences for certain serious felonies, including major assault, robbery, and sex offenses. Because the charge itself sets the floor, the early decisions matter enormously. If you or a family member is facing one, call us as soon as you can.
You didn't mention my town. Can you still help?
Most likely, yes. The firm is well established across the Willamette Valley and the north coast, and for serious criminal defense and injury matters we take cases throughout Oregon. The fastest way to find out is to call 503.472.3313. We'll give you a straight answer.
